Common procedures performed by the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology are:

Colposcopy: A thorough examination of vaginal tissues and cervix following the screening test for cervical cancer like the Pap smear test or HPV tests.

Loop electrical excision procedure: A procedure used to remove abnormal growth or tissues in the vagina.

Endometrial biopsy: Procedure where tissue samples are collected from endometrium lining within the uterus. The sample is tested for abnormal cells or tissues indicating cancer.

IUD insertion: Here an intrauterine T-shaped device is placed under the uterus through cervix. It is a reversible contraceptive option and can be performed on OPD basis.

Nexplanon: It is a subcutaneous 4cm implant that is placed in upper forearm. The implant releases birth controlling hormones and can be effective for at least 3 years. The implant has about 99% success rate in preventing pregnancy.

Ovarian cystectomy: Procedure wherein cyst is removed without affecting the ovary. The procedure is usually done when the cyst has a solid appearance, larger than three inches in diameter, causes pain constantly and has the possibility of turning cancerous.
